believing the impossible

As the autumn exam time approaches I can’t help but remember these two quotes:
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat. “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,”said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come [...]

conspiracy

I’ve been thinking about which of the two lucky t-shirts should I wear for each of my two upcoming exams at uni. The dilemma was quickly resolved by the professor himself. He changed the date of his exam and now I have both on the same day. One at 8am and one at 9am. Lovely.

maaaaail

Everyone has a house and somewhere there is also a mailbox. Everyone checks their mailbox every day. The hour of when this is done varies, but it’s usually in the morning or after returning from work. The point is: it’s checked daily. It’s a habit.
Here comes the point when I get confused:

Oops, wrong turn.

I live in an old medieval town with narrow, zig-zagging streets (imagine Venice, just without water canals). And the Crocodile said, “I’ll tell you the truth,
I have a terrible ache in my tooth.”
And he opened his jaws [...]

make a wish!

Did you know that yesterday was the night for perseids?
Sadly, I missed it. I remember watching them four years ago. I was lying on the floor on the balcony and staring at the dark sky. I was also in the middle of studying for a difficult test. Statistics test (yuk!). For the second time. My [...]

He said I have a nice sky

Remember that Peanuts comic, when Woodstock comes and says to Snoopy that he has a nice sky? I like it. :)
The sky is great. Especially when there are lots of visible satellites for my gps. Lots of visible satellites means greater gps accuracy, which is always good. Satellites can also be tracked. Here for example. [...]

Commanders

“I thought commanders could order anything.”
“They can order the moon to turn blue, too, but it doesn’t happen. Listen, Ender, commanders have just as much authority as you let them have. The more you obey them, the more power they have over you.”
- O. Scott Card: Ender’s Game, Chapter 7
